Opera Brava's The Marriage of Figaro

Opera Brava are Britain's leading outdoor touring Opera Company.

A wedding with the sublime music of Mozart - The Marriage of Figaro has all the ingredients of a classic piece of 18th century literature - passion, lust, betrayal, deception and ultimate forgiveness. The action takes place in just 24 hours and has a liberal sprinkling of farcical humour.

Probably the most perfect and popular opera. A day in the life of Figaro. A joyful farce in which we witness the foibles and intrigues used to reveal the indiscretions of a philandering nobleman, Count Almaviva. Some of Mozart’s most sublime music features in this bittersweet yet uplifting comedy.

Opera Brava brings the music of Mozart to life with a fast moving and witty production and some of the finest singing you will hear anywhere.

Location

This year’s performances will be played in the open air at the front of the Hall. The audience will sit on the Front Lawns, bringing their own chairs, cushions, rugs etc, with the performers on a stage, and the House as a glorious background. The mellow red Tudor brickwork of the house, and the superb vista will make for one of the most amazing theatrical backcloths you will ever see!

Suppers

Audience members are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy during the evening.

You may hire a Kentwell picnic table. NB. the hire of a Kentwell picnic table does not include the cost of your tickets for the performance.

For evening performances, gates will open at 6.30pm, so that guests may enjoy a visit to the gardens and a pre-show drink.
