The Colours of Home Ed Day

A Visit to Tudor England

Tudor Michaelmas - This Weekend

Our last Tudor Re-Creation of the year!

Join the Tudors to celebrate the Feast of St Michael and All Angels in 1559. With the harvest gathered in, the gentry, retainers (cooks, bakers etc), craftsmen and labourers are preparing for the long winter ahead.

Tudor High Summer this weekend

Enjoy everyday life in Tudor England this bank holiday weekend at Kentwell’s Tudor High Summer!

Congratulations Pip and Francis!

A beautiful Handfasting took place at Kentwell this afternoon, between Pip Cabbage the Mummer and Francis (Fanny) Green of the Stillroom. They broke bread and counted the crumbs that fell into an apron, foretelling how many children they will have.

Lively Tudor Pageantry

Come join our Tudor pageant this weekend! It's set to be full of colour, flags and mock battles. The Tudors will perform their version of the Battle of Agincourt from 1415. Expect lots of flag waving, colour, noise and merriment.

Love is in the air...

We enjoyed a glorious Tudor Handfasting yesterday, between our Alehouse keeper Jack and Rush Weaver, Jennet. Their hands were tied before they jumped together over fire (created by our Alchemist) in a traditional handfasting ceremony.

Battle of Britain Lancaster Bomber Flyover

We were delighted to enjoy the unexpected low flyover of the Battle of Britain Lancaster bomber on Saturday at 12.37, which flew over Kentwell on its way to the flyover over Buckingham Palace. Not exactly a Tudor activity but so exciting for all who saw it!
