Easter at Kentwell is one of the most popular weekends of the year, with family-friendly activities and acres of gardens and woodland to explore.

House - Stunningly beautiful, earliest brick, symmetrical and Open Courtyard House in England. Set in extensive brick lined moat with unusual & intriguing interiors. Built by John Clopton builder of Melford’s Church and his son Sir William between c1485 & 1530 it has been ‘improved’ since notably in 1825 and recently. Don’t miss its unique brick service building rising sheer from the moat

Kentwell’s ‘Tudors‘ - Kentwell’s Tudor buildings are brought to live by our Living History specialists. See and learn about their daily lives and the first festival of their year.

Younger Children's I-Spy Trail

Newborn Lambs - Gambolling lambs are the very embodiment of Easter you will find this year's young lambs out enjoying the new season’s grass.

Gardens - massed spring bulbs in drifts of daffodils until they give way to the delightful cowslip, widespread here. Wander the Gardens. Feed the Carp over the Moat Bridge and enjoy massive drifts of daffodils abound. It's a lovely time to see the Gardens - charming as their winter starkness leaves.

For quiet repose follow the Kentwell-ness Walk.

For young children - the Maze, Yew Castle and unexpected surprises here &

there to find. Also varied I-Spy challenges.

Tearoom - relax in the Tea Garden or under cover

£2 extra paying at the Gate.

FAQs

  • Dress with suitable clothing and footwear for the weather!

  • The Tearoom will be open until 15 minutes before closing time.

  • No dogs, except guide dogs, are permitted within the grounds.

  • The majority of the gardens are reasonably accessible by wheelchair in good weather but less so when underfoot is muddy.

  • We operate a no-refunds policy for when we're open. Tickets are not transferrable to other days, or to other events. Please always check our website before travelling to check we are open.
